It is possible to have a VNC server running on a Windows server and view it on a Linux client or vice versa. The keyboard and mouse input from the client machine is sent over the network to the host, and the host returns the graphical display. Any actions are performed on the server, not the client.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Instructions<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Open a terminal window. The terminal will be found under &#8220;Applications&#8221; and &#8220;Accessories (GNOME)&#8221; or &#8220;Start&#8221; and &#8220;Utilities (KDE).&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>Install vncviewer.<br \/>\n<blockquote><p>sudo apt-get install vncviewer.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/li>\n<li>sudo apt-get install vncviewer.<br \/>\nType the command:&nbsp;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>vncviewer hostname:number.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The VNC server will start with a session number.
